EV CHARGER INSTALLATION · TRI-CITIES

EV Charger Installation Across the Tri-Cities

WHAT WE INSTALL

Installation Services We Offer

A panel upgrade is often the first step when adding an EV charger, Powerwall, hot tub, electric heat pump, or other high-demand electrical equipment. RMS provides 100A to 200A service upgrades, sub-panel installations, and complete panel replacements throughout the Tri-Cities. We start with a load calculation to determine whether your existing service can support your current and future electrical needs, recommending upgrades only when they are necessary.

Tesla Wall Connector

The Tesla Wall Connector is fast, clean, and the right choice if you drive a Tesla or plan to. As a Tesla-certified installer, RMS handles the install to Tesla’s specifications — the right wire gauge, the right breaker, the right place on the wall.

Other Brand Level 2 Chargers

ChargePoint, JuiceBox, Wallbox, Grizzl-E, and other Level 2 chargers for any major EV. We install what you bought; if you want a recommendation, we have one.

NEMA 14-50 Outlets

A 240-volt outlet that gives you the flexibility of plug-in charging — used with Tesla’s Mobile Connector and most other portable Level 2 chargers. Faster than 120-volt charging without the cost of a hardwired install.

Hardwired Installations

Hardwired installs are typically faster (up to 48 amps on a Wall Connector) and feel cleaner on the wall. Best when you know which charger you’ll be using long-term.

WILL YOUR HOME HANDLE IT

Every Install Starts With a Load Calculation

A Level 2 charger pulls real current. Most homes can handle one. Some can’t without a panel upgrade first. The way to know is a load calculation — not a guess based on amperage labels.

Load Calculations

We look at your service size, existing loads, and planned charger amperage before recommending the install. If the panel can carry the charger on its existing capacity, that's a one-day install. If not, you have options — a panel upgrade, a smart load-management device, or a lower-amperage hardwired charger.

Panel Upgrades for EV Charging

Older homes with 100-amp service often need an upgrade to comfortably support a 40-amp or 48-amp Level 2 charger plus everything else the house already runs. We do the panel work and the charger install on the same project when that's the right path.

TESLA-CERTIFIED INSTALLS

Tesla-Specific Installs

RMS is one of the few Tri-Cities shops Tesla-certified to install Wall Connector charging equipment. For homeowners, that means a Tesla-trained installer doing your install. For businesses, it opens up the commercial Wall Connector for Business program — see the dedicated page for the revenue and amenity model.

WHAT IT COSTS, ROUGHLY

Cost and Timeline

A straightforward Tesla Wall Connector or NEMA 14-50 install with adequate existing panel capacity typically runs in a predictable range. The variables are distance from the panel to the charger location, whether the run is through finished walls or accessible space, and whether a panel upgrade is part of the project.

Most home charger installs are a one-day project. Panel upgrades add a day to the timeline and require utility coordination.

RICHLAND $300 REBATE

Richland Smart Level 2 Charger Rebate

The City of Richland publishes a $300 rebate for residential smart Level 2 charger installs. Eligibility, charger type, and application process are spelled out in the City’s rebate documentation. If you live in Richland and your charger qualifies, we can help with the paperwork side.
